How Do Linear Drains Simplify Your Layout?

A linear drain is a long, narrow drain that runs along one edge of the shower. With a center drain, the floor must slope from several directions toward a single point. A linear drain allows the floor to slope in one direction toward the drain channel.

This simpler slope, in a conversion project, keeps the design clean and straightforward. If you want a modern tile layout, having fewer transitions that have to be worked into the floor just makes sense. While primarily a practical choice, visually, linear drains are also long, thin, and often hidden to reduce clutter compared to centrally placed or square drains.
